Our Seasons

Unlike other parts of California, Rainbow Tarns enjoys 4 full seasons. This is due to its ideal elevation. You can enjoy three of those seasons, spring, summer or fall, during a stay at Rainbow Tarns.

Three ponds (tarns) shaded by Willows and Aspens are only a few steps from the front porch. Leather rockers will tempt even the most active person to sit and enjoy the quiet serenity of the Tarns. Rocky hillsides and open meadows invite exploration and the surrounding areas offer adventures galore. There are many outdoor activities including excellent trout fishing to keep you quite busy even into the fall.

Autumn in the Eastern Sierra is simply fabulous. The daysare moderately warm with crisp cool evenings. The mountains are adorned with trees of fire, which flow down the hills like rivers of gold. A camera is a must at this time of year!
