tarnsRainbow Tarns Bed & Breakfast is truly a unique experience. It has a rustic quality that is right out of the Old West, complete with wagon wheels and rawhide rockers on the porch. The great room (shown above), with its log walls, stone fireplace and vaulted log-trussed ceiling was the original log cabin built back in the 1940's. The ponds were used as a "u ketch'm" trout farm for many years and in the spring, Rainbow trout from nearby Crowley Lake still pass through the ponds to spawn.

ThomansBrock & Diane Thoman,
Owners/ Innkeepers
Originally from La Canada in Southern California, Brock and Diane had never planned on being innkeepers. Having vacationed in the Eastern Sierras since their youth, their love of the area only grew as their 3 sons learned to enjoy the beauty and diversity of the region. They had always admired the meadow in which Rainbow Tarns lies, and when by chance or destiny they found themselves the owners of this "piece of heaven," they decided to keep it as a bed and breakfast so they could share its restful beauty with others. Since then, they have enjoyed the many visitors (now friends) who have been able to experience the uniqueness of Rainbow Tarns Bed and Breakfast

Mammoth Mountain (just minutes away) offers excellent downhill skiing with high-speed quad lifts.
