
Unlike other parts of California, Rainbow Tarns enjoys 4 full seasons. This is due to its ideal elevation.
Spring/Summer
Three ponds (tarns) shaded by Willows and Aspens are only a few steps from the front porch. Leather rockers will tempt even the most active person to sit and enjoy the quiet serenity of the Tarns. Rocky hillsides and open meadows invite exploration and the surrounding areas offer adventures galore. There are many outdoor activities including excellent trout fishing to keep you quite busy even into the fall.

Fall
Autumn in the Eastern Sierra is simply fabulous. The days are moderately warm with crisp cool evenings. The mountains are adorned with trees of fire, which flow down the hills like rivers of gold. A camera is a must at this time of year!

Winter
Clean fresh snow falls regularly here in the Eastern Sierra providing the best skiing on the West Coast. >Mammoth Mountain (just minutes away) offers excellent downhill skiing with high-speed quad lifts. Rainbow Tarns is located at the base of Rock Creek Canyon where there are miles of groomed cross-country ski trails.
